A Little Bit about Dody

Dody was born very "average looking" at best. She grew into an incredibly gorgeous doe with fantastic structure throughout.   She was the first DOE to become a PGCH in the Country Critters herd name. In addition Dody became Region 1's FIRST Finished Mastser Champion in October 2009 at almost 7 years of  age!

Shortly after she took her first grand as a junior, I bred her to Fir Meadow Powder River. She had a single buck kid, that we eventually wethered and sold as a pet. Thinking that it would be easy to just "make another" kid, I sold him impulsively, and kicked myself for years afterwards, as I could NOT get her bred again.

Shortly after she had  the buck kid Doethe2StepTango,  Dody  went on to become a PGCH at 2 1/2 years old.

For the next THREE years I tried to breed Dody to ANY and EVERYthing with no success.  Here I had this most gorgeous doe that I adored and could not get  bred!  If I could "Mark" my herd, it would be to look just like her, yet it was looking as if I would never have a kid out of Dody again. However, I  was not going to give up!

In 2007 I was lucky enough get Dody's  mother  (Legacy Farms Kalamazoo) back from Scott and Karen Colwell.  I had purchased Kallie as a kid from theColwells. She kidded a few times for me, then I sold her - something that I never forgave myself for doing!  I brought  Kalamazoo home from Convention in 2007. Dody and Kallie  bonded immediately! It was as if they had NEVER been apart. A few months later, I put a buck in with the two of them for a few months and was absolutely shocked to find that not only Dody, but also Kallie settled.

On May 8, 2008 Dody delivered two stunning doe kids without any assistance. She has been a fantastic mother and I could not be more blessed then to have these two awesome girls to carry on Dody's lineage. And YES, she "marked" them - they are a splitting image of her (especially Dancer's Image).  And both of them have her incredibly sweet disposition!

She is due to K's Heavenly Hill Farm Medina in December 2009.

As of October 2009, Dody's girls have done incredibly well in the show ring. Dancer's Image took her first grand at 13 months as well as several juniors and reserve juniors. Victory Dance has taken 4 juniors championships, 4 Reserve Grand Championships and a Reserve Junior Championship. She will be bred to 3xGrCh Bella Woods Only Time Will Tell in  November 2009
